After a 4th-place finish during 3ICE's inaugural season, Larry Murphy led Team Murphy to the Patrick Cup title in 2023. His team finished with a 7-1 record and a league-high 36 goals scored, helping him secure the Eddie Johnston Coach of the Year Award. Murphy returns for Season 3 as coach of 3ICE Minnesota, bringing back to the midwest the blue-collar mentality he honed as a player there. Murphy is the only player to win four Stanley Cup Championships in the 1990's, winning his first two back-to-back with Pittsburgh in 1991 and 1992, and the same result in 1997 and 1998 with Detroit. He is the fifth highest scoring defense man in NHL history with 1,216 points and was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004. Murphy currently serves as a studio analyst for the Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit.
