Ken Daneyko enters his first season as coach of 3ICE New York/New Jersey. The rugged NHL legend played his entire 22-year career with the New Jersey
Devils, earning him the fan-appointed nickname “Mr. Devil”. After being drafted by the club with the 18th overall pick in the 1982 draft, the Edmonton, Alberta-native proceeded to appear in a franchise-record 1,283 career games, highlighted by Stanley Cup wins in 1995, 2000 and 2003. One of the era’s top defenseman, he also logged a franchise-high 2,516 penalty minutes, another mark that still stands today. His #3 Devils uniform was retired by the team on March 24, 2006, becoming just the second to hang from the Prudential Center rafters.
