The end of each 3ICE season will conclude with, not only the celebrated hoisting of The Patty by the league’s best team, but the awarding of individual honors to the league’s top performers.
Most winners (all but Mullen & LeClair awards) are determined entirely by fan vote. You, the fans, made your voice heard and determined who took home the hardware. This season's inaugural award winners, as presented at the Awards Banquet following the Championship game, are as follows:
The Eddie Johnston Coach of The Year Award
Presented to the league’s top coach, paying homage to one of the greatest leaders in hockey and current 3ICE Deputy Commissioner
The Grant Fuhr Goalie of The Year Award
Presented to the league’s top goaltender and named after the greatest tender in the annals of the sport, according to “The Great One”
The Larry Murphy Best Defensive Player Award
Presented to the league’s top lock-down defender and named after the 5th highest-scoring defenseman in history
The John LeClair +/- Award
Presented to the player who makes the most positive impact during his time on the ice, named after a man who lived this during his career
The Bryan Trottier League MVP Award
Presented to the player whose performance contributes most to his team’s success in the regular season, named after a man with 7 rings
The Joey Mullen Top Scorer Award
Presented to the skater who tallies the league’s highest point total, named after the first US-born player to reach the 1000 career points plateau
The Guy Carbonneau Playoff MVP Award
Presented to the player who is at his best when his best is needed- in the 3ICE Championship Weekend
