London Weekend Preview

3ICE is crossing the border and heading to London, ON, Canada for Week 5. The six teams will take the ice at Budweiser Gardens on Saturday afternoon to battle for pivotal points and a championship win.

Team Mullen was back in the championship-win column after taking the prize over Team Murphy in Hershey, but other teams (including Team Murphy) are eager to take over the championship title with the playoffs inching closer and closer. Will this be the weekend we see a new champion?

“For our team, Team Murphy (Team Green) we've been doing really good and we're working extremely hard,” John Schiavo said. “We made it to two finals and sadly lost. Hopefully we can win a final here in the next couple of weeks, get a big push before the playoffs, gain some points, and gain some leverage in the standings because we want to play for the big money at the end.”

While Kevin Fitzgerald of Team Mullen retains the Golden Helmet for yet another week with 13 goal and will be wearing it again in London, players across the league are not too far behind him. Tyler Murovich (Team Mullen) is just one goal behind Fitzgerald with 12, while Brandon Hawkins (Team LeClair), Peter Lenes (Team Fuhr), and Tim Coffman (Team Mullen) all have 11 goals. All players are in search of having the opportunity to wear the Golden Helmet before the season ends, so will this be the weekend someone will pass Fitzgerald’s lead on the stats sheet?

In Game 1 of the afternoon, Team Fuhr will battle against Team Murphy for a spot in the semifinals. Next up, Team Trottier will take on Team LeClair in Game 2. The reigning champions, Team Mullen, will face off against Team Carbonneau in the last game of pool play.

Will Team Murphy defeat Team Fuhr so they have another shot to earn their first tournament in the finals? Will Team Trottier get past Team LeClair in hopes of claiming their second championship win of the season? Will Team Mullen come out victorious over Team Carbonneau as they look to earn their fourth championship title?
