Hershey Weekend Preview

Hershey Weekend Preview

3ICE is going to get a taste of the “Sweetest Place on Earth” when they head to Hershey, PA for Week 4, and Hershey is going to get a taste of the best part of hockey when 3ICE takes the ice at GIANT Center on Saturday night.

Last weekend in Grand Rapids, Team Trottier skated away with the victory over Team Mullen for their first championship win of the season. This weekend, the two teams meet again in the opening game of pool play which is a key matchup you won’t want to miss.

Heading into the weekend, Kevin Fitzgerald of Team Mullen still holds the top spot for most goals scored in the league with 11 so he will be wearing the Golden Helmet for the second weekend in a row. Just behind Fitzgerald is Peter “Swaggy P” Lenes of Team Fuhr, so be sure to watch the leaderboards to see if Fitzgerald still holds the title after his weekend in Hershey, or if Swaggy P will stickhandle his way to the top.

The action will start as soon as the puck drops in Game 1, the battle of the Champions, between Team Trottier and Team Mullen. Team Fuhr and Team Carbonneau will battle for a crucial point that is on the line in Game 2. And in Game 3, Team Murphy will take on Team LeClair for a chance to move up in the standings.

Who will win the rematch game between Team Trottier and Team Mullen? Will Team Carbonneau find their first win of the season over Team Fuhr or will Swaggy P push Team Fuhr to the semifinals? Will Brandon Hawkins pull off more highlight real goals to advance Team LeClair into the next round over Team Murphy?

“At the beginning, you think you have eight weeks to get points and get in the top four spots to move on,” Jeff Taffe of Team Fuhr said. “I think we're finally starting to feel a little bit better, but that goes for every team. I think people are starting to figure it out a little bit more and I think the compete level has gone up a little bit more, too.”

Join us at 7 p.m. on Saturday night to see what team will enjoy the sweet taste of victory in Hershey!
