Grand Rapids Weekend Preview

Grand Rapids Weekend Preview

3ICE is traveling up north to Grand Rapids for the Week 3 tour stop. Michigan is no doubt a hockey-passionate state, so it’s time to bring that passion to Van Andel Arena and Griffen Molino of Team Murphy hopes fans will do exactly that.

“Grand Rapids is a cool area, so I think people should be excited to come watch to us play and it'll be a really interesting tour stop for the group,” Griffen Molino said. “I think we're going to get a lot of fans and I think a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprised at how fun it is to be there.”

Even though the NHL season concluded last week, the nonstop action of 3ICE will make up for the lack of hockey throughout the summer for hockey fans across the world, and there’s no better time to start following along than right now. The six teams have two weeks under their belts and their chemistry is starting to come together on the ice, which fans should look for this weekend.

“I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress as far as standings go, game plan, or strategy kind of takes shape,” Molino said. “I expected the first couple of weeks to be a little bit of trial and error, and I think we're seeing thus far what's what makes a team successful and what doesn't. I'm just excited to continue this journey and grow with the team that we're trying to move forward with.”

Team Mullen, who currently holds the top spot in the standings, will start off the event against Team Carbonneau in the first game of pool play. Next up, Team LeClair and Team Fuhr will take the ice for Game 2, and Team Trottier and Team Murphy will wrap up pool play in Game 3.

Will Team Mullen do it again for the third weekend in a row or will there be a new team leaving Grand Rapids as the Champions? Will Team Carbonneau break through and find their first win of the season? Who will shine for Team LeClair or Team Fuhr to advance their team to the semifinals? Will Team Trottier continue to build off the success they had in Denver? Will Team Murphy’s connections to Michigan push them to the top?

Tune in on TV or we’ll see you at Van Andel Arena on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET to see what team will be the Champions of Week 3!
